Established in 1995, SmokeyCoons produces healthy, happy Maine Coon cats with sound genetic vigor and excellent temperaments through carefully planned breedings.

SmokeyCoons is located in the beautiful, but almost always, cloudy Puget Sound area of Washington in the Northwestern part of the United States. Fred, a Professor and Department Head at Edmonds Community College, has taught psychology courses for the past 37 years. His educational degrees are focused on 'animal behavior' rather than the 'analytical' side of psychology. Elaine is currently employed at JMS Construction in Redmond, WA. Both Fred and Elaine share in making decisions about the cats and each helps with cattery chores for our feline children.

Although we don't specialize in producing specific colors, we most often get brown and silver Coonlets with an occasional red, blue-silver, smoke, shaded or solid. Our ultimate color goal -- shaded silvers and chinchilla silvers with 'type'.
